During the month of February and March we focused on our CSP of Doctor Who, and during our photography lesson we worked on Photoshop and taking pictures using light by playing with the aperture and ISO. Starting the CSP with no knowledge of Doctor Who it was difficult but after the research I had knowledge of doctor who and it helped me a lot with the rest of the CSP also watching an episode or 2 of doctor who it gave me a story line and an idea about the characters and the genre which helped me with the analysis of Propp's theory about the characters which I found easy and straight forward.
During this Month I did a lot of analysis and worked a lot on linking 2 things together like Propp's theory and Doctor Who which is actually very significant. We also looked at the syringe theory which links in with more about the audience, Todrov's theory which links to the structure of the narrative and also uses and gratifications which are the reasons people watch certain thing like a TV series and this also links in with audience. We also looked at BBC because they commissioned Doctor Who so they link in with the CSP. We looked at how they commissioned and what they need to do and also what the BBC is about and compared it BBC these days compared to BBC from the 19's. I enjoyed this because it was something I didn't know about but interested me especially when I started reading more about it and how an original series has been going through a lot and how it became so popular over the years with the rising of BBC.
During our Photography lesson we played with the cameras testing out how to change the ISO and the aperture to allow more or less light to enter the camera and how long the camera stays open. It was very interesting. I am now able to change the ISO and the aperture to create unique pictures with light and the movement of the camera with the light. While using the cameras we also used Photoshop on the computers, we made glitch affects on pictures and also we learnt how to warp an image around an object which I found difficult but eventually understood how to do it.
