SEPTEMBER 2017
September 2017, the first month of media done. It was a month full of learning and enjoying media studies. I started off knowing a little bit about media and how to use a camera since I have one at home that I play around with, but after a month in media I can use a camera with more knowledge on how to use it and the different shots and angles you can take pictures with to make it have a different effect or give it a different meaning.
The very first lesson we applied the knowledge we already had and took a lot of different photos. My partner and I a lot of different photos and we focused on the background and focusing on the main object which was us. In the next lesson we used the studio with the green screen and lighting. we really focused on the lighting and if it's light or dim or golden or white. we took good pictures with different lightnings and angles and heights of the lighting but to improve if we had more time we would've adjusted the lights to make it look perfect. A few lessons after that we focused on frames and the framing of pictures and also the different angles and shots we can take and then went to go have a go using the camera and took more pictures to add to this.
After lessons on using the camera we spent some time looking at music videos and looking at all of the different things and compared them to each other. we looked at the lighting, if it's a story or a narrative and also the angle shots and angles. we compared modern videos to the first music video that came out and we made notes on how they were different.

OCTOBER 2017
This has been our 2nd month in media studies, with a lot of new progress. During this month we looked at debut album posters of bands and Cd covers mainly. We spent a lot of time discussing band posters and how there represent the artist and the genre and also how they appeal to there audience. After discussing about its features and how to portray it we made our own. To continue of from the posters we continued with Cd covers, we also discussed what it needed to make it look realistic and the positioning of everything on the Cd cover. We spent a lesson designing it to make sure our posters and our Cd covers matched in genre and theme.
For my poster I chose the genre of Indie, i chose this genre because it's different but still quite popular now a days. I associated my indie poster to a quite hippie theme and it turned out really well since they both contemplated each other. Overall, I really like my poster and I think it's unique withe it's theme and since my audience is such a big a age group (teenagers - adults) it's interesting since most music now a days is based on either teenagers or adults and very rarely both.
